Why connect Knipsy to Odoo?
Odoo runs a business very well, provided the documents get into it. Fuel receipts, restaurant bills, paper invoices: that is often where data entry falls behind.
Knipsy takes care of that entry point. It reads the document from a photo, applies the VAT and the account from the standard chart of accounts, then passes the result to Odoo.
What the connection does for you.
- A validated purchase document becomes a vendor bill in Odoo; a sales invoice, a customer invoice.
- The supplier is found by their VAT number, or created if they do not exist yet.
- One line per VAT rate, with the Odoo tax of the same rate.
- Odoo’s invoices and credit notes, for customers and suppliers alike, are brought into Knipsy and kept up to date: status, amount due, payment.
- What Knipsy has sent is recognised: nothing is counted twice.
Your accountant stays in control.
Documents arrive in Odoo as drafts: it is your accountant who posts them. An invoice is changed in Odoo, never in Knipsy.
Sending never blocks your work. If Odoo does not respond, the document waits in a queue, goes out again on its own, and you can resend it.
Odoo or Knipsy? Both.
Knipsy is not a competitor of Odoo: it is the way in for your documents. You keep Odoo for management; Knipsy brings reading from a photo, drop-off by email and the checks of Luxembourg accounting.
And if you do not use Odoo, Knipsy keeps the accounts on its own, with your fiduciary.

Do I need to install a module in Odoo?
No. Knipsy goes through Odoo’s official access, with a key that you create in your Odoo account and can withdraw at any time.
Does Knipsy replace Odoo’s accounting?
No. Knipsy prepares the document and passes it on as a draft; the entry lives in your Odoo, which you keep using as before.
What happens if Odoo is unavailable?
The document stays in Knipsy’s queue and goes out again at the next attempt. Nothing is lost, and your validation is never blocked.
Is the Odoo connection paid for?
No. Knipsy is free, Odoo connection included.
