What Knipsy reads on a document.
A crumpled receipt, a multi-page invoice, a toll receipt: Knipsy looks for the same information as an accountant.
- The supplier and their VAT number.
- The date and the document number.
- The net amount, the VAT and the gross amount, broken down rate by rate.
- The invoice lines, when the expense is split between several accounts.
Three ways to drop off an invoice.
- The photo, from your phone: one page or several in a row.
- The file: a PDF or an image, dropped off from the phone or the computer.
- Email: forward the invoice to your file’s drop-off address, or give that address to your suppliers.
A document received by email from an unknown sender is never posted automatically: it waits for your validation, with a warning about its origin.

At each validation, Knipsy remembers where the date, the total and the VAT are located on this supplier’s documents. The next invoice is read faster, with fewer errors.
This learning only concerns positions on the page, never the content of your invoices.

Which documents can I scan?
Till receipts, purchase invoices, expense reports, receipts, PDF invoices received by email. Individuals also file their household’s papers there.
Do I need a scanner or special equipment?
No. The phone’s camera is enough; on a computer, you simply drop off the file.
What happens if the reading is wrong?
Nothing is posted without you. You see what Knipsy has read, you correct the field in question and you validate; the correction is used for subsequent readings.
Can I send several invoices at once?
Yes. Several photos, or a PDF containing several invoices, are split into separate documents, read one after the other.
